Our Mission

We developed a gel dispensing device, the Dispencil, with a mechanism that replicates a mechanical pencil. It is designed to consistently deliver the ideal volumes of gel needed during the procedure, eliminate air bubbles, and maintain ease of use and comfortability for the end user

Problem

During ViaLase's procedure, a consistent layer of gel is applied between multiple surfaces, including the patient’s eye, minimizing laser refraction and increasing its accuracy. Currently, the gel layer is applied from the original packaging by the clinician and the volume varies greatly. This packaging also contains air bubbles within the gel that need to be manually removed by the clinician.

Solution

The Dispencil will maintain consistent and accurate volumes without air bubbles, provide an ergonomic, easy-to-use device for clinicians, and streamline the laser eye procedure.
